Mandatory pre-application consultation for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects was removed from 24 July under the Planning and Infrastructure Act 2025, a change intended to shorten Development Consent Order timelines by up to a year. Construction insolvencies pass 3,800 over the rolling year
The Insolvency Service recorded 3,805 construction sector insolvencies in the 12 months to June, with construction accounting for 17 per cent of all insolvencies in England and Wales. Failures rose 4 per cent in June to 309, up from 296 in May. Construction News
