Structural Revit Technician

Location: Norwich or Loughborough (office-based)
Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 depending on experience

JustEng is recruiting a Structural Revit Technician for a well-established civil engineering design & build contractor, working from either their Norwich or Loughborough office. The business designs and builds infrastructure end to end — feasibility, detailed design and construction under one roof — for major UK water companies and public-sector infrastructure clients, alongside highways and heavy civils work.

The modelling here is real reinforced concrete: treatment works structures, pumping stations, tanks, chambers, retaining walls and highways structures. You will work in Revit alongside the structural engineers, produce the drawings and schedules the site teams build from, and see your models turn into finished structures rather than disappear into an archive. It is an office-based role with discretionary flexibility, applied sensibly project by project.

The role

• Model reinforced concrete and steel structures in Revit — treatment works structures, pumping stations, tanks, chambers, retaining walls and highways structures
• Produce coordinated GA drawings, sections, details, reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules to BS 8666 and the practice’s drawing standards
• Work directly with structural engineers, turning sketches, calculations and mark-ups into complete, checked drawing packages
• Coordinate the structural model against civil, mechanical and electrical models — clash detection in Navisworks and resolution with the wider design team
• Work to BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 information-management principles, keeping models, families and templates consistent and current
• Issue drawings accurately and on programme, managing several live projects at once
• Support the in-house construction teams with buildability queries, revisions and as-built information during delivery

About you

• A structural Revit technician who can take a scheme from engineer’s mark-up to issued drawing package with limited hand-holding
• Strong Revit modelling and detailing skills, with reinforced concrete detailing experience — rebar drawings and bar bending schedules should be familiar territory
• Comfortable working to UK standards and detailing conventions (BS 8666, Eurocodes as applied in UK practice) — you will be producing UK construction information from day one
• AutoCAD alongside Revit; Navisworks and BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 ways of working welcome
• Experience gained with a contractor, design & build business or structural consultancy — civils, water or infrastructure exposure is a real advantage
• Organised and dependable on deadlines across concurrent projects, and comfortable asking engineers the right questions
• Right to work in the UK

The salary band is deliberately wide — the seat is shaped around what you can actually do, so both established technicians and those ready to step up are worth a conversation.

Software

Revit day to day for structural modelling and detailing, with AutoCAD for 2D output and legacy information, Navisworks for coordination and clash detection, and the wider Autodesk and Microsoft Office toolsets.
