The S&P Global/CIPS UK Construction PMI rose to 44.7 in July, up from 38.4 in June and the highest reading since March, though it remains below the 50.0 mark that separates growth from contraction. Construction remains the UK’s most insolvency-hit sector, accounting for 17% of all company insolvencies in the year to May 2026, according to RSM UK.
